My Story

Dr. Evelyn Ogletree is the Executive Pastor of First Metropolitan Church (Houston, TX) and is affectionately referred to as Lady O or "Queen Mother." Lady O earned her Doctorate Degree at Texas A & M University in Urban Education, a Master’s Degree in counseling from Prairie View A & M University, and her Bachelor Degree from Texas Southern University. A former schoolteacher for HISD, KISD, and Cy-Fair ISD, Lady O left CFISD as a school counselor, to go into full time ministry at First Metropolitan Church. Lady O served on the board of LovingHouston.org and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Redemption Community Development Corporation -RCDC.

Her joy is being married to her childhood sweetheart for 49 years; Bishop John D. 'Bishop O' Ogletree, Jr. She has raised four college graduates. Her children, along with their spouses have blessed them with 13 grandchildren. Lady O sees herself as a spiritual mother and role model for women of all ages and stages. For over 15 years, she has hosted the annual "Women At The Feet of Jesus Conference", that is strategically designed to transform the lives of women by addressing real-life issues and providing real solutions they can understand and implement. Great emphasis is placed on equipping these women with the necessary tools needed to live a Christ-centered life!
